Visualizing Health Effects of Fracking
Since 2014, the Environmental Health Project has been collecting health data and environmental exposure information from citizens living near fracking operations. In October 2017, EHP Launched the Environmental Health Channel, which is an interactive web-based tool to explore the information they've collected on human and environmental health issues related to fracking. Use the tool to explore the connections between environmental quality and health within your community.
Another tool for visualizing the health impacts of oil and gas development is Earthwork's Oil and Gas Threat Map. You can use the map to see the location of oil and gas facilities as well as which areas that may experience the negative health impacts from this infrastructure. You can also map schools and medical facilities and access data to air pollution and cancer risk within affected communities.
